Are Instaboutiques taking over? How shopping on Social Media has drastically changed the future of business.
For the past year as we experienced a pandemic we have seen a great transition of the way that business runs in our economy. Many businesses have been unable to manage the economic challenges, while others have been newly created and are now thriving. As more and more people began shopping online we have seen a rise in many digital small businesses, including virtual boutiques. Virtual boutiques are slowly begining to rise by marketing via social media platforms such a facebook and instagram. Typical start up costs and virtual store is typically less than a brick and mortar. Many digital businesses have been able to profit with less overhead and able to see more of a return on their initial investment.
The rise of the instaboutique has grown many small businesses into large businesses. With websites like Fashionova and Shein taking over we see many smaller businesses taking a small piece of the large pie. A 2020 study finds that 40% of people ages 18-34 have made purchases via social media and with apps like Facebook, Instagram leading in allowing online purchases to be made through facebook and instagram shops these numbers could be seen to grow in the future. There are even talks of Twitter joining the club. Have you made any purchases online lately?
